The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare & Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in a Farmers’ Chaupal and Farmers’ Interaction Programme organized under the “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” at Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (ANDUAT), Ayodhya. The programme was also graced by Shri Surya Pratap Shahi, Agriculture Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Baldev Singh Aulakh, Minister of State for Agriculture, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The event was further graced by Dr M.L. Jat, Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR; Dr Rajbir Singh, Deputy Director Geenral (Agri Ext), ICAR; Shri Ravindra, Principal Secretary (Agriculture), Government of Uttar Pradesh; Dr Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, ANDUAT, Ayodhya; and Dr Raghwendra Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur.
Farmers from Ayodhya district and adjoining areas actively participated in the programme. Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Shri Surya Pratap Shahi interacted with the farmers and discussed important issues related to soil health, balanced use of Fertilizers, challenges in agriculture, and strategies for enhancing farmers’ income.

The programme featured extensive deliberations on Natural Farming and Soil Health Management. Experts provided training to farmers on natural farming, the use of Jeevamrit and other bio-inputs, cultivation of pulses, paddy, vegetables, and fruits, fisheries and integrated farming systems based on natural farming practices. All dignitaries and farmers visited demonstration units. Progressive farmers also shared their experiences and highlighted the benefits of the adoption of natural farming.
