ICAR institutes carry out various externally funded collaborative projects with multilateral and bilateral agencies, foundations and foreign universities. Main themes include genomics and genome editing in crops, animal health and antimicrobial resistance, and climate resilience, water and nutrient use efficiency. Examples include genome-edited bacterial blight resistance in rice with Heinrich Heine University, Germany, and next-generation breeding with Gates Foundation support.
