Breakthroughs during 2021 onwards

1. Globally first genome-edited two rice varieties released
2. Developed 1847 varieties including 587 extreme climate-resilient and stress-tolerant varieties and included in seed chain
3. 183 biofortified varieties across field crops with around 40% area under wheat (Total 18 million ha across crops)
4. Yield enhanced in food grains (2343 kg/ha to 2616 kg/ha), oilseeds (from 1269 kg/ha to 1400 kg/ha) and sugarcane (from 83566 kg/ha to 84987 kg/ha)
5. Basmati rice export of Rs. 215466 crores during plan period
6. Successful management of Fall Army Warm, Cassava Mealybug and other invasive pests (@ >₹3,480 crore/annually through biocontrol)
7. Breeder seed supply of >2,000 varieties (@ ~₹120 crore value annually) with enhanced varietal rate to >70% across crops
