- Next-generation breeding & genetics using genomic selection, haplotype- and epigenetics-based breeding, AI/ ML enabled predictive breeding, synthetic apomixis, precision phenotyping, use of trait specific germplasm for rapid development of climate-resilient, high-yielding, multi-stress-tolerant, input-use efficient varieties/hybrids of mandated crops:
- breaking yield barriers with focus on oilseeds and pulses for Atmanirbharta;
- biofortified varieties for addressing malnutrition
- varieties for industrial use like maize, sugarcane etc. for bioethanol production
- Plant health through integrated pest management including biologicals and bio-intensive solutions reducing chemical residue and use of modern digital & AI-enabled crop management
- Seed research, smart seed production technologies and supply of breeder seed in minimum period of release
