ICAR–KVK Nimbudera Organises Awareness Programme on Sustainable Farming Practices under ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026’ in Rangat Block

ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nimbudera, organized awareness programme on sustainable farming practices under ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026’ from 17–19 June 2026 at Pernasala, Janakpur, and Sitapur villages of Rangat Block, N & M Andaman, in collaboration with UTATMA, Department of Agriculture, A & N Administration.

The programme aimed to create awareness among farmers regarding sustainable agricultural practices for enhancing crop productivity, maintaining soil health, and improving farm income.

During the programme, farmers were sensitized on balanced fertilizer application, the importance of Soil Health Cards, integrated nutrient management through vermicomposting and composting, seed treatment with biofertilizers, scientific paddy cultivation practices, integrated pest management, and promotion of organic and natural farming techniques.

During the farmer–expert interaction sessions, farmers actively shared their field-level challenges and experiences related to crop production. The experts provided technical guidance on efficient input management, integrated pest management, balanced nutrient management, climate-resilient agricultural practices, and adoption of modern farming technologies.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Jai Sunder, Director (Act.), ICAR–CIARI, Sri Vijayapuram.

A total of 57 farmers and farmwomen actively participated in the programme.
