The Division of Soil Science & Agronomy (SS&A), ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun, organised a cleanliness and awareness programme at the Public Park, Rajendra Nagar, Dehradun, under the “Swachhata Mein Sahbhagita – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat” campaign and the theme “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” – Swachhta Abhiyan.
The programme was graced by Smt. Komal Vohra, Ward Member, Ballupur, Dehradun, as the Chief Guest. During the programme, the Senior Scientist, sensitised participants on the importance of rainwater harvesting, proper composting and scientific management of leaf litter. He highlighted the role of responsible waste management and sustainable environmental practices in maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.
The programme aimed to create awareness among local residents and visitors about cleanliness, proper waste management and environmental conservation. Staff members of the SS&A Division actively participated in the cleanliness drive along with local residents and Swachhta Mitras.
A total of 50 participants took part in the programme. The activity concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to continue contributing towards cleanliness, responsible waste management and the creation of a cleaner and greener environment.
The programme was organised under the active guidance of Dr Shakir Ali, Acting Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun.
