ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nadia organized Animal Health Camps at Silinda and Natapuli villages of Chakdah block today to improve livestock health and dairy productivity among rural farmers.
The camps provided vaccination, deworming, disease diagnosis, fertility management, and scientific advisory services directly at farmers’ doorsteps, helping reduce livestock diseases and economic losses.

Special emphasis was given to cow infertility management, including treatment of anestrus, repeat breeding, uterine infections, and delayed conception. Farmers were guided on gynecological examination, hormonal therapy, mineral supplementation, and artificial insemination practices to improve reproductive efficiency and milk production. Technical guidance on scientific dairy and goatery management practices was delivered.

The camps also created awareness on balanced feeding, reproductive hygiene, heat detection, and preventive livestock healthcare practices. Through such initiatives, ICAR-KVK Nadia continues to promote sustainable livestock development and strengthen the rural economy of West Bengal.
Altogether 58 dairy and goatery farmers benefitted from the programme.
