ICAR-Indian Sugarcane Research Institute, Lucknow organized a motivational programme and cycling campaign to promote awareness on fuel conservation, environmental sustainability, and healthy living among employees. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s call for responsible energy conservation and sustainable living through the message “Save Fuel, Save Nation,” the programme aimed to encourage eco-friendly practices and strengthen collective commitment towards nation-building and environmental protection.

Dr S. N. Sushil, Director, ISRI, highlighted the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices in daily life and emphasized the role of every citizen in conserving fuel, protecting the environment, and contributing towards a healthier and self-reliant nation. He encouraged all employees to embrace cycling and sustainable transportation and also urged them to initiate routine farm visits and field activities through cycling as a practical step towards fitness, fuel conservation, and environmental awareness.
A solemn collective pledge was administered during the programme, wherein all employees resolved to actively support fuel conservation, environmental sustainability, and healthy lifestyle practices. Demonstrating their commitment, participants also endorsed the campaign by Signing a Commitment Signature symbolizing their dedication towards the “Save Fuel, Save Nation” movement.

To further reinforce the message, Dr Sushil, along with scientists, officers, staff members and employees, participated in an energetic cycling rally towards the Institute’s Farm area, promoting fuel conservation, fitness and environmental consciousness through collective action. The rally was marked by spirited participation, with participants raising slogans in support of the “Save Fuel, Save Nation” campaign, amplifying its message with enthusiasm and collective energy.
The event concluded on a highly motivating note, inspiring all participants to adopt sustainable practices and contribute meaningfully towards nation-building through responsible environmental stewardship.
