A 2-day Training Programme of rural youth on aquaculture was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Angul, under the jurisdiction of ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata, in hybrid mode.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director of ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata, emphasized the vital role of fish in providing essential minerals, vitamins, and Poly Unsaturated Fatty Acids that support growth, brain function, and the nervous system in fetuses and infants. He highlighted the ascendancy of the Indian Blue Revolution on the global stage, noting its status as a sunrise sector with an impressive double-digit average annual growth rate. Dr. Dey also deliberated on Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, Sagar Mitras, Fish Farmers Producer Organizations, and Fisheries Infrastructure Development Fund for the benefit of participants.

Leaflets in Odia on the production of yearlings for higher income generation were distributed to the farmers. Matsya Vikash Gosthi was also organized on the occasion to clear the doubts of fish farmers.

A total of 20 fish farmers participated in the programme.
