27th November – 1st December 2023, Bhimtal

A five-day hands-on training programme on ‘Livelihood Generation through Value Added Fish and Fishery Products’ was conducted at Experimental Fish Farm, ICAR- Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Champawat from 27th November to 1st December 2023.

Practical knowledge was given on product preparation and storage during the training. Participants also got the opportunity to learn calculations related to input cost and profit margin of fish value addition. Different value-added products of rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) like fish fillets, fish cutlets,  fish momos, fish pickles, grilled fish and  Fish kofta were prepared with active participants of trainees.

It was attended by 25 farmers from different villages of Champawat district viz., Mudiyani, Pati, Banlekh, Riyasi, Doodhpokhara and Telwara.
