Webinar on “Microwave Disinfestations of Food Grains” organized

The ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering & Technology, Ludhiana, Punjab organized the Technological Solution Based Webinar on “Microwave Disinfestations of Food Grains” today.

Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director, ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana apprised the participants about the Institute and its role in the post-harvest management and rationale of the Technology.

Shri Pradeep Goyal, Founder & CMD, Pradeep Metals Ltd., Navi Mumbai underlined the role of the industry in technology development, application of continuous microwave system and its economical feasibility. He also highlighted his efforts with the Government of India for implementing the disinfestations system to establish at the different stakeholders’ levels.

Shri Tarsem Saini, President, The Federation of All India Rice Millers Association stated that the disinfestations system may be immediately applicable to THE Basmati Rice Exporters.

Dr. C.L. Ram, Executive Director, Food Corporation of India also participated in the Webinar.

The Webinar was based on the successful Technology developed in the ICAR-Industry collaborative efforts of the ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, Punjab and Industrial Microwave Research Centre of Pradeep Metals Ltd., Navi Mumbai.

Around 100 participants including Rice Millers, Grain (Cereal and Pulses) Millers, Industrialists, Start-Ups, Scientists and Budding Entrepreneurs from the various parts of the country participated in the Webinar.
