An initiative to develop a joint institutional mechanism involving apex national R&D organizations; Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) providing scientific industrial R&D that maximizes the economic, environmental and societal benefits; and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) dealing with science-led sustainable development in agriculture and allied sectors; to meet the new and emerging challenges of R&D in India.
