The Zonal Technology Management Centre (ZTMC), ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin, Kerala organized a National Webinar on “Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Indian Fisheries Sector - A crisis management support to overcome the impact of COVID-19 pandemic” today.
The Special Guest, Dr. Sanjeev Saxena, ADG (IPTM), ICAR, New Delhi outlined the IP&TM Division’s role in promoting the entrepreneurship development in the fisheries sector.
Dr. Sudha Mysore, CEO, Agrinnovate India Ltd. (AgIn) highlighted the activities in promoting the agri-business and the transformation of the institutional technologies into viable business projects.
Accentuating the enterprising technologies of ICAR Fisheries Research Institutes, Dr. Ravishankar C.N., Director, ICAR-CIFT briefed the objective and importance of the Webinar in the context of post-lockdown scenario of Covid-19. He also urged the repatriated people to exploit the enormous entrepreneurial opportunities in the fisheries sector to ensure better employment.
The Webinar was aimed at providing an overview about the innovative technologies with business potential, developed by the various Fisheries Research Institutes under the ICAR and the major business support schemes offered by the government.
Around 310 participants participated in the Webinar.
