The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Bengaluru organized the “Review cum Action Plan Workshop and Zonal Programme Management Committee (ZPMC) meeting of Farmer FIRST Programme” today.
Dr. M.J. Chandre Gowda, Chairman, Zonal Programme Management Committee (ZPMC) & Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Bengaluru emphasized the need to link the current year progress with the cumulative progress achieved over the years. He stressed that the Action Plan must give attention to the study impact of each intervention in comparison with benchmark data.
Dr. A.K. Mehta, Member, ZPMC & Former ADG (AE), ICAR urged for implementing all the technological modules effectively. He also stressed on taking special efforts for tackling the mastitis in dairy animals.
Dr. H. Phillip, Member, ZPMC & Former Director of Extension, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore highlighted the importance of documentation with exact data and standardized methodology. He suggested assessing the effectiveness of interventions in terms of gain in knowledge and extent of adoption.
The Three implementing Centres, viz., ICAR-CPCRI, Regional Station, Kayamkulam; ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru and ICAR-NIANP, Bengaluru presented the progress for the Year - 2019-20 and Action Plan for 2020-21.
