The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Washim, Maharashtra and National Bee Board organized a three-day Virtual Training Programme on "Scientific Bee Keeping" from 15th to 17th April, 2021. The programme was organized under the Mini Mission - I - National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM).
In his inaugural address, Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra stressed on developing the knowledge and skills of scientific beekeeping. Dr. Singh urged the farmers for concentrating on honey bee farming and making it an integral part of crop husbandry for attaining higher income with less investment.
Dr. Ravindra Kale, Head, KVK, Washim, Maharashtra briefed about the training course and role of National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) for promoting apiculture. He emphasized on adopting the techniques of scientific beekeeping and developing entrepreneurship.
A total of 58 trainee participants virtually attended the training programme.
