Virtual Training Programme on “Fall Armyworm: Symptoms, Identification & Management” organized

The ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, Uttarakhand organized the Virtual Training Programme on “Fall Armyworm: Symptoms, Identification & Management” for the Seed Production and Certification Officials and the Officials of Krishi Vigyan Kendra of the North-Eastern Hills Region from 5th to 6th July, 2021.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Lakshmi Kant, Director ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, Uttarakhand highlighted the economic importance and damage potential of Fall Army Worm in the Maize crop. He apprised the participants about the adoption of management strategies to get better yield despite pest attack.
More than 50 officials from ICAR Institutes, State Agricultural Departments and Krishi Vigyan Kendras of North-Eastern and North-Western Indian Himalayan States namely - Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Tripura and Uttarakhand virtually participated in the training programme.
