Virtual Training Programme on “Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing Applications in Agriculture” concludes at ICAR-NAARM

The 6-day Virtual Training Programme on “Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing in Agriculture” organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad from 15th to 20th March, 2021 concluded today.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. V. Praveen Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Telangana emphasized on the importance of capacity building on AI tools in the NARES. He also outlined the various AI initiatives in Agriculture. Dr. Rao stressed on the need for innovative AI Apps that can possibly emerge at the intersection of Agriculture, Finance, IT, IoT and BI.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the importance of AI methodologies in the current scenario, where more than 100 Billion devices are connected to the web and generates a lot of data. He urged the participants to implement the learning in the domain of agriculture through possible collaborations.

The programme was designed into 3 sections of 2-day each covering the Concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning & IoT; Python Programming with Hands-on-Training and AI Models used in the various Start-Ups in Indian Agriculture.

A total of 32 participants from 9 states from the 17 Agricultural disciplines participated in the programme.
