Training Programme on “Technological Interventions for Rural Entrepreneurship & Farmers’ Prosperity in Eastern India” concludes at ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal

The four-day Virtual Training Programme on “Technological Interventions for Rural Entrepreneurship & Farmers’ Prosperity in Eastern India” organized by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research, Karnal, Haryana 27th to 30th July, 2021 concluded today.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Gyandenra Pratap Singh, Director, ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal, Haryana emphasized on transferring the latest technological interventions from the various ICAR Institutes in the different sectors of Agriculture to the KVK Scientists for bringing change in the farmers’ lives.
In his Lecture on “Integrated Farming System”, Dr. A.S. Panwar, Director, ICAR-IIFSR, Modipuram, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh accentuated on Rice-based multi-tier system with raised beds for the Eastern India.
Dr. K.V. Prasad, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune, Maharashtra underlined the importance of protected cultivation in flower crops and their value-addition.
The experts from the various ICAR Institutes outlined the recent advancements in the field of Seed Production of Cereal Crops, Seed Processing, Establishment of Seed Industry, Agronomic Management in Sugarcane, Floriculture, Poultry Farming, Organic Farming, Integrated Farming System, Container Gardening, Goat Farming, Potato Seed Production, Fisheries and Dairy.
More than 50 Subject Matter Specialists in the varied disciplines, viz., Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agriculture Engineering and Home Science from 20 Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar participated in the programme.
