The three-day Training Programme on “Operation and Maintenance of Farm Implements” organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Buxar under the Consortia Research Platform on Farm Mechanization and Precision Farming concluded today.
Presiding over the valedictory function, Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, Head, Division of Socio-economic and Extension, ICAR-RCER, Patna conferred the participants with the certificates. During the field demonstration of tillage implement (Power Harrow), Dr. Kumar appraised the farmers about the importance of primary and secondary tillage. He also encouraged the farmers for taking-up mechanization to increase agricultural productivity and thereby, improve their livelihood.
Earlier, the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony on 23rd January, 2020, Shri Krishnanand Chakraborty, District Agriculture Officer, Buxar appraised the participants about the recent advances in agricultural practices. He also briefed about the various schemes on agriculture for the farmers’ benefits.
The practical and theoretical sessions on operation and maintenance of farm implements for various agricultural operations, viz., field preparation, weeding, harvesting, etc. were organized during the occasion. The participating farmers were also exposed to the latest farming techniques suitable for the region during their visit to the KVK, Buxar farm.
A total of 30 farmers from Buxar District participated in the programme.
