State Level Work Plan - 2020 Workshop for KVKs of Rajasthan inauguratedThe two-day “Work Plan - 2020 Workshop for Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Rajasthan” organized by the ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur was inaugurated at Agricultural University, Jodhpur today.

The Chief Guest, Dr. B.R. Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor, Agricultural University, Jodhpur regarded planning as one of the foremost requirements for the effective implementation of any programme. He urged the KVKs to plan their activities in a proper way for the benefits of the farmers on a large scale. He suggested the KVKs to address the challenges of seed replacement and make the seed of farmer preferred varieties / newly released varieties available to the farmers on right time for achieving the doubling of farmers’ income vision by the Year - 2022.

Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur highlighted about the starting the KVKs as the Vocational Centres at the inception stage. He emphasized that the KVKs have now been assigned the role of Knowledge & Resource Centres of their respective Districts. He urged to study the strength, weakness, weather and market conditions of the district along with the addressing the issues like productivity, stability, sustainability and equitability at the planning stage.

The Directors of Extension Education of State Agricultural Universities of Rajasthan presented the different models of “Sustainable Income Generation from Farming” in Rajasthan scenario.

Around 44 KVKs of Rajasthan will present their Work Plans for the Year - 2020 for discussion and finalization with suggestions for improvements.

A total of 44 Senior Scientists & Heads of KVKs of Rajasthan are participating in the workshop.
