21st to 22nd November, 2019, Dehradun
Shri Sushil Kumar, Additional Secretary (DARE) and Secretary (ICAR) visited the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation (IISWC), Dehradun from 21st to 22nd November, 2019.
During his visit, Shri Kumar interacted with the Institute’s staff members and took a note of the activities being carried out at the Institute and its regional research centres. He offered proactive support for mobilizing the larger interest of the Institute that would benefit the farmers and stakeholders too. He accentuated that the activities must focus on the utility of the outcome of research and products for the farmers and other end-users. Shri Kumar urged for more interactions between the National and International Institutions working in the domain of natural resource management for magnifying the efforts and benefits.
He also visited the research farm, Selakui. Shri Kumar urged the scientists for adopting out-of-box thinking to solve the problems and have effective solutions which would benefit the nation at large.
Earlier, Dr. P.R. Ojasvi, Director, IISWC outlined the major activities and achievements of the Institute.
About 30 scientists and staff members attended the meeting and about 20 research projects were reviewed in field at the farm during the occasion.
