“The Scientists should work with enthusiasm and zeal to address the challenges of the most vulnerable ecosystem”, urged Shri Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. Shri Choudhary was on his visit to the ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa today.
The development of Farmers’ Producers’ Organizations, focus on post-harvest processing for enhancing the farmers’ income and avoiding losses, development of stress-tolerant improved varieties and organization of the farmers’ awareness programmes like Kisan Melas for better connectivity with the farmers and stakeholders was also stressed by the Minister.
Shri Chandrakant Babu Kavalekar, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Goa was also present during the occasion.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa briefed about the Institute’s achievements.
The Representatives from the State Line Departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Services and Fisheries; Scientists; Senior Officials along with Staff Members of the Institute and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Goa were also present on the occasion.
