Shri Kailash Choudhary interacts with progressive farmers and KVK officials of Assam

Shri Kailash Choudhury interacts with Progressive Farmers and Scientists of KVK, AssamShri Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare interacted with the progressive farmers and Krishi Vigyan Kendra officials of Assam at the College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, Khanapara, Guwahati today.

Shri Choudhary applauded the success achieved by the innovative, progressive farmers, members of the Self Help Groups and Producer Company in the area of livestock, value-addition and post-harvest. The Minister also lauded the FPC and SHG Members for successfully running the company in the seed production dairy farming, post-harvest, value-addition and organic farming. He urged the farmer to try for the certification for the organic products by maintaining the good quality of products.

The Minister also highlighted the important role that the organic farming can play in doubling the farmers’ income. He urged all the stakeholders for working in synergy and the KVK to play major role in providing the technical backstopping as well as assisting the farmers, SHGs to reap the benefit of the various scheme under operation of the state.

Dr. AK. Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR; Dr. V.P. Chahal ADG (Agricultural Extension), ICAR; Dr. A.K. Tripathi, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VI, Guwahati; Dr. P.K. Pathak, Director (Extension Education), Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat along with other senior officials of KVKs and other Institutes were also present during the occasion.
