The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone - III, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh organized the “Review and Action Plan Workshop of Farmers’ FIRST Project” today.
Dr. Atar Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur accentuated on the need to develop the purposeful Action Plan and plan based project interventions for the benefits and income generation among the farmers in system based interventions and technology demonstrated through the ICAR Institutions. He also urged to document the impact analysis with few success stories.
Dr. O.P. Singh, Member, ZPMC highlighted about the better implementations and good expectation outcome from “Farmers’ FIRST Project” by the ICAR Institutes. He also emphasized on the need to work in farmer’s perspective based technology applications.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. S.K. Dubey, Principal Scientist (Agricultural Extension) highlighted about the designing and planning of the “Farmers’ FIRST Project” for the farmers for developing their capacity for the technology based, Natural Resource Management based, crop based and live stock based interventions.
Sharing his views and experiences, Shri Sethpal, an innovative farmer from west Uttar Pradesh and Member of ZPMC and the recipient of Jagjivan Ram Innovative Farmer Award emphasized that the “Farmers’ FIRST Project” is a scheme mandated for the farmers who need the technology for upliftment of their agri-production as well as income based agri-system.
A total of 7 ICAR Institutes of the Zone - III of Uttar Pradesh participated in the workshop.
