The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jabalpur organized the “Review Workshop of Farmers’ FIRST Programme” at its campus in the presence of ZPMC experts and members today.
Dr. Anupam Mishra, Director & Chairman, ZPMC stated that the Farmers’ FIRST Project is based on family-based approach and the policy intervention has positive outcomes. He further emphasized that project activities must play important role in enhancing farmer’s income through proper training & guidance in marketing aspect also.
Dr. Shiv Kumar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NIAP, New Delhi, an invited expert of impact assessment, urged for macro impact analysis of technologies based on the selected technical indicators.
Earlier, Dr. S.R.K. Singh, Principal Scientist & Member Secretary welcomed the participants and briefed the progress and activities before the ZPMC for further discussion in detail.
The ZPMC experts Dr. Y.V. Singh, Former ZPD, Jodhpur; Dr. Om Gupta, DES, JNKVV, Jabalpur; Line department representative, Shri K.S. Netam, JDA, Jabalpur Division & Er. S.K. Chourasia, Ag. Engineer, Jabalpur Division; Farmer representative, Shri Vivek Mahajan, Narsinghpur were also present during the meeting.
At present, the Farmers’ FIRST Project is operational at 7 centres under the ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur, viz., DWR, Jabalpur; IISS, Bhopal; JNKVV, Balaghat; RVSKVV, Morena; NDVSU, Jabalpur; IGKV Ragnandgaon, Chhattisgarh and NIBSM, Raipur.
The ZPMC members opined for the project-wise comments on their progress along with the modification in the Action Plan 2019-20.
A total of 20 participants registered their participation during the meeting.
