The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata organized the Review Workshop on “Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture (ARYA)” today.
The workshop was organized for 9 ARYA implementing Krishi Vigyan Kendras - Sambalpur, Ganjam-I, Puri, Cuttack, Uttar Dinajpur, Hooghly, Purulia, Nimpith and Nayagarh of West Bengal and Odisha.
Dr. S.S. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata highlighted project’s rationale underlining the need to identify the District’s potentiality, livelihood indicators’ documentation, farmers-to-farmers communication and prepare the baseline data of income before and after the adoption of the ARYA project. Dr. Singh emphasized on preparing the success indicators for assessing the impact more conspicuously.
The Senior Scientists & Heads of all the ARYA implementing KVKs presented the Project’s achievements during the Year - 2019-20. The dignitaries provided their suggestions for better the implementation of the ARYA Project.
The senior officials of ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata and KVKs participated in the workshop.
