Rabi Season Mela organized

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Osmanabad, Maharashtra organized the “Rabi Season Mela” for the farmers today.

Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra urged the farmers of Osmanabad District to use the quality seed of oilseeds, pulses and cereal crops. He suggested the Integrated Farming System for doubling the farmers’ income and drought mitigation technologies like broad bed furrow techniques, etc. Dr. Singh also stressed on using the biofortified nutri-cereal crops and adopting the organic farming.

Dr. D.B. Deosarkar, Director (Extension Education), Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, Maharashtra suggested the farmers for adopting the crop production technologies like use of improved and short duration varieties, seeds treatment and BBF technology, etc.

Dr. Vasant Suryawanshi, Extension Agronomist, RAEEC, Ambejogai advised for adopting the Panch Sutri Programme for quality and higher production of wheat and safflower.

Er. Sachin Suryawanshi, Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Osmanabad, Maharashtra briefed about the District’s major crops grown in the Rabi season and shared water management technologies during the occasion.
