The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Ludhiana and GBDSGNS Foundation, Ludhiana jointly organized the Panchayat Conference on Crop Residue Management at ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana from 23rd to 24th September, 2019.
Shri Rishi Pal Singh, I.A.S., Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) urged the Panchayat Pradhan, Sarpanchs and Panchs for shunning the practice of straw burning and becoming the champion of mission zero burning by showing the path to the other farmers of their respective Panchayats.
Dr. Himanshu Gupta, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Raikot encouraged the participants for working together for this noble cause.
Dr. H.S. Sidhu, CEO, GBDSGNS Foundation, Ludhiana highlighted about the Foundation’s motive to act untiringly for declaring the cluster of 35 villages as residue burning free villages in association with the ICAR, PAU, CCI Foundation, Local Administration and other stakeholders in a mission mode.
Dr. J.S. Mahal, Director (Extension Education), Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana urged the Panchayat members for helping the government and Non-Government Organizations in out-scaling the technologies amongst farmers for clean and green environment.
Earlier, Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana highlighted about the main objective of the conference.
More than 120 elected Sarpanchs and Panchayat Members of 35 villages of Raikot Block of Ludhiana District participated in the conference.
