The National Agri-business Entrepreneurship Conclave-cum-Krishi Unnati Mela organized by ICAR-Research Complex for North Eastern Hills Region, Umiam, Meghalaya concluded today.
The Conclave was organized at the campus from 9th to 11th February - 2019.
In his valedictory address, the Chief Guest, Shri Kyrmen Shylla, Cabinet Minister, Government of Meghalaya applauded the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region’s efforts to develop the agri-ecosystems in the region.
The Guest of Honour, Shri Allentry F. Dkhar, Political Advisor and Secretary to Chief Minister, Government of Meghalaya applauded ICAR’s initiatives to bring a change in the agriculture’s cult.
Dr. N. Prakash, Director, ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region said that the conclave provided the entrepreneurs and farmers with a platform for transforming their production into agri-business.
Dr. G. Kadirvel, Organizing Secretary highlighted the main aim of organizing the conclave for promoting the agri-business. He also mentioned that the conclave proved to be successful by establishing 50 linkages between buyers and sellers.
The themes for varied technical sessions organized during the occasion were based on scope of Agribusiness and start-up, Agri Business ventures, Agri Business ventures under livestock, etc.
The various brainstorming sessions were also organized during the occasion to discuss about various innovative ideas and their implementation.
The Krishi Unnati Mela organized during the occasion provided the farmers a major platform for building up the relations and upgrading their knowledge about the regulatory authorities, branding and marketing strategies.
The Conclave registered a total footfall by more than 500 participants along with various Entrepreneurs, Innovative Farmers, Financial institutions, Consultants, Buyers, sellers, Scientists, Agri & Management Students, incubators, extension personals, Public representatives, etc.
