'Kisan Mela and Agri Expo' organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ratnagiri was inaguarated 11th February, 2018.
Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ATARI, Pune, in his inaugural address briefed the farmers about role of KVK in on farm experimentation and technology application for making farming more profitable. He said that doubling farmers' income is possible through crop diversification, creating different enterprises, developing Integrated Farming System and disseminating climate resilient technologies among farmers.
Dr. Sanjay Bhave, Director, Extension Education, DBSSKV Dapoli focused on group farming, group marketing and agri-preneurship. All the farmers visited intrsuctional farm with demonstration units.
Scientists of BSKKV, Dapoli shared technologies groundnut cultivation, mango blossom management and processing techniques of different spices. Konkan Bahadoli (Jamun), Konkan Safed Velchi (Banana), Konkan Bhuratna (Groundnut), Karjat-9 (Rice) were recommended to adopt by the farmers.
About 500 farmers, farmers and agri-preneurs participated in agri-expo and scientists-farmers interface.
