Janjagruti Programme on “Dharti Meri Mata” organized

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Navsari Agricultural University, Surat, Gujarat organized a Janjagruti Programme (Webinar) on "Jamin Suposhan and Sanraksan" titled “Dharti Meri Mata” today.
Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Rajkot Constituency, Gujarat stressed on cow based farming and spread message for cultivation of non-poisonous foods and vegetables.
Dr. Z.P. Patel, Vice-Chancellor, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat accentuated on sustainable agriculture and incorporating the traditional knowledge of farmers and nature.
In his address, Dr. C.K. Timbadia, Director of Extension Education, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat emphasized on the sustainable and organic / natural farming. He also urged the farmers for avoiding the excess use of chemical fertilizers & pesticides and move towards the organic farming.
Shri Pareshbhai Vyas, Chairman, Gram Vikas Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Gujarat expressed his concerns about the increasing area of in-fertile soil due to injudicious use of chemical fertilizers.
Earlier, in his address, Dr. J.H. Rathod, Senior Scientist & Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Surat, Gujarat highlighted the importance of soil in agriculture.
Around 125 farmers virtually participated in the Webinar.
