The Krishi Vigyan Kendra - II, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh and ICAR-National Research Centre for Integrated Pest Management, New Delhi jointly organized the “Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Farmers’ Fair” under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan today.
Dr. Shailendra Rajan, Director, ICAR-Central Institute for Sub-Horticultural, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh stressed on the need of such efforts in which the Research Institute and Krishi Vigyan Kendra disseminate the latest IPM tools and technologies to the farmers and monitor the farmers’ actions.
Dr. Atar Singh, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone - III, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh highlighted the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendras in empowering the farmers, Self Help Groups, Kisan Clubs and Farmers’ Producers’ Organizations. He also urged the beneficiaries to provide their sincere efforts in implementing the latest technologies and be an IPM Ambassador to spread it to their friends, relatives and other in their own villages and nearby areas.
Shri Girish Chandra Mishra, Vice-President, State Lalit Kala Academy, Uttar Pradesh appreciated the efforts of Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
Shri Arvind Mohan Mishra, Deputy Director, Agriculture, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh emphasized that by adopting integrated technologies, the farmer can avoid pest resistance.
A total of 153 participants including 72 beneficiaries’ farm women, SHGs, FPO, Kisan Club and 4 Private Organizations participated in the programme.
