ICAR West Zone Sports Tournament hoisted by ICAR-NRC Camel

ICAR West Zone Sports Tournament was organized from 22nd to 25th November 2022 at Bikaner by ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner.
Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs & Culture and Member of Parliament, Bikaner was the Chief Guest of the ‘Award Ceremony’ today.
He acknowledged the contributions of great athletes of Bikaner who have represented at National and International levels. Shri Meghwal said that sports inculcate spirit and explore performance, while it increases the feeling of mutual sympathy, in which the winning player encourages the loser and wishes him good for better future, where in lies the formula of successful life management.
The Special Guest, Prof. S. K Garg, Vice Chancellor, SKRAU and RAJUVAS said that through sports one can remain healthy and stress free.
Dr. Neeraj K. Pawan, Divisional Commissioner, Bikaner encouraged the players and said that a player leaves the field after learning something or the other, which fills him with the spirit to do better.
Shri Om Prakash, Inspector General, Bikaner Range also appreciated efforts of the participants.
Shri G P. Sharma, Joint Secretary (Finance), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi also present on the occassion
Dr Artabandhu Sahoo, Convener and Director delivered the welcome address.
Dr A.K. Tomar Director CSWRI was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural ceremony. Dr S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR- ATARI and Dr D.K Samadhaia, Director, ICAR- CIAH were the Guests of Honour.
More than 550 participants from 18 Institutes/Centre covering 7 states participated in the event. The Four-day event witnessed various athletics events, indoor events, cycling including team events, viz. volley ball (Shooting and smashing), Kabaddi, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Carom, Chess and T-10 Cricket at SKRAU Sports Stadium in Bikaner.
