 A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the ICAR - National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner and ASD Rajasthani Dairy Products Pvt. Ltd. for licensing of innovative camel milk powder-making technology developed by the NRCC scientists.
Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, ICAR-NRCC, and Shri  Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director,  ASD Rajasthani Dairy Products Pvt. Ltd.  Signed the MoU for respective organizations.
Through the use of innovative technology, camel milk powder is now available throughout the country. This technology licensing results in an improvement in the availability of camel milk throughout the country in the form of quality camel milk powder which can be stored for a long time.

Dr. Sahoo exhorted that the centre is helping to create an ecosystem for innovation and technology transfer, which gives the private sector access to the latest process, technology, and products related to camel milk. He said it also helps to reduce the cost of research and development for the private sector, as they can use the innovations that have already been developed by the centre. Dr. Sahoo added that the transfer of innovative technology from NRCC to private firms helps to promote economic growth, encourage innovation, creates new opportunities and drive competition in the market.

Highlighting the beneficial power of Camel Milk inflammatory and anti-aging properties, and may even help to slow the aging process. However, it is a concern that these functional and therapeutic properties may get negatively affected during extreme heat processing of camel milk. Keeping this in mind the scientist said that the Principal inventor of the technology, Dr. Yogesh Kumar and his team have developed a method of making quality products by using innovative techniques so that the functional and therapeutic properties present in the camel milk remain intact to a greater extent.   
Describing this new initiative (MoA) taken by the centre in the direction of exploring the multi-faceted utility of camel, Dr. Sahoo said that the camel herders would be able to get direct benefit from it. He urged camel rearers to fully adopt the idea of camel milk business and move forward in this direction so that camel milk market can be converted into organized food supply chain.

Dr. Yogesh Kumar said that the conventional milk processing methods cannot be directly used for the processing of camel milk as it has different characteristics, therefore they are the working on the development of new innovative technologies for camel milk processing to make various quality products.

During this occasion, Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of ASD Rajasthani Dairy Products Pvt. Ltd. Said the aim is to bring quality camel milk products in the market so that the needy and common people can get its benefit and the export opportunities may not be missed by having substandard products.
