ICAR-NRC on Camel organizes Camel Race Competition to promote tourism during International Camel Festival

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner, Rajasthan organized the Camel Race Competition today. The event was organized as a part of the “International Camel Festival” organized in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan and District Administration, Bikaner from 11th to 12th January, 2020.

The Chief Guest, Shri Anand Prakash, General Manager, North Western Railway, Jaipur regarded the event helpful in promoting the tourism at large and will be useful for the Indian Railways as well.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastav, Divisional Railway Manager along with the officials of Department of Tourism, District Administration, Scientists of ICAR Institutes and other senior officials from Army participated in the event.

Dr. R.K. Sawal, Director, ICAR-NRC on Camel regarded the events helpful to connect the camel herders with the developmental activities of tourism economically and socially. He emphasized that such initiative would help in checking the decline of population and conserving the species.

Over 2,000 Foreign and Indian tourists were present during the occasion.
