ICAR-NOFRI organizes Training Programme for Progressive Farmers of Jalna, Maharashtra

The ICAR-National Organic Farming Research Institute, Tadong organized 3-day Training Programme on “Organic Crop Production Technologies for farmers of Jalna, Maharashtra” from 26th to 28th November, 2019.

Dr. R.K. Avasthe, Joint Director, ICAR-NOFRI highlighted about the relevance of the training programme for the promotion of organic farming by the adoption of new technologies developed for the organic systems. Dr. Avasthe accentuated on the need of good soil health in organic production system. He stressed on soil health management and conservation agricultural practices for the field crop production.

The farmers were also briefed about the organic production technologies, ongoing research and development activities during their visit to the ICAR-NOFRI Research Farm.

The participants were distributed the “Extension Folders on Organic Production Technologies” and two books published by ICAR-NOFRI during the valedictory function.

A team of 20 farmers visited ICAR-NOFRI to get equipped with organic farming techniques.
