ICAR-ATARI, Patna organizes “Annual Review and Concluding Workshop of Technology Demonstration Component of NICRA”

The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Patna, Bihar virtually organizes its “Annual Review and Concluding Workshop of Technology Demonstration Component of NICRA” today.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. R.K. Sohane, Vice-Chancellor, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bihar applauded the KVKs’ efforts for demonstrating the resilient technologies in minimizing the climate change impact. He emphasized on promoting the Custom Hiring Centres in a convergence mode through NICRA and State Level Programmes to benefit a large number of farmers.

Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad appreciated the KVKs’ efforts for implementing the resilient technologies at the farmer’s level. The approaches to be adopted in the next phase of TDC by demonstrating the climate resilient technologies on farming system perspective considering all the important crops grown, resources available and constraints to achieve resilience was accentuated in Dr. Singh’s address.

Earlier, in his welcome address, outlining the adoption of resilient practices in the zone, Dr. Anjani Kumar, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Patna, Bihar highlighted about the climate-resilient practices that were being up-scaled by the State Government in all the Districts of Bihar.

The senior officials of ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities also virtually participated in the Workshop.

Around 13 KVKs presented Consolidated Reports and 4 Districts presented Technical Programmes for the next phase of NICRA-TDC.
