Hands-on-Training Programme for Farmers on improved agricultural implements and machinery

The ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal organized the “Hands-on-Training Programme for Farmers on Improved Agricultural Implements and Machinery” under the Consortia Research Platform on Farm Mechanization and Precision Farming (CRP on FMPF) from 6th to 8th January, 2020.

Dr. P.S. Tiwari, Director, ICAR-CIAE; Head Agricultural Mechanization Division and LCPC, CRP on FM&PF presented the updates on farm mechanization technologies for doubling the farmer’s income.

During the three-day programme, the farmers were provided with the Hands-on-Training-cum-Demonstrations of improved agricultural technologies and necessary adjustments to be done during the operation. The women-friendly tools and implements, conservation agriculture machinery and bullock drawn machinery along with the covered cultivation techniques for crop production were also demonstrated during the occasion.

The occasion also organized a visit at the ICAR-CIAE adopted village - Kacchi Barkheda for the farmers from Nagpur for interacting with the progressive farmers and understanding the cultivation practices followed in Madhya Pradesh.

In his valedictory address, Dr. P.S. Tiwari, Director, ICAR-CIAE urged the participants for implementing the knowledge gained by them on their farm and propagating it among the farming community for the betterment of their lives. Dr. Tiwari also felicitated the participants with the certificates.

A total of 68 farmers (including 11 women farmers) from Maharashtra (11) and Madhya Pradesh (57) participated in the programme.
