A two-day Group Meeting on Pulses Production Technology (26-27 July, 2018) under National Food Security Mission was inaugurated at ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur today to acquaint about potentiality of different proven technologies of Kharif pulse crops to Subject Matter Specialists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Rajasthan and Haryana States.
Dr. S. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, emphasized upon follow up of vertical and horizontal approaches for enhancing pulses production of the country. Rajasthan has third rank in the pulses production in the country and 34 percent green gram is grown in Rajasthan during kharif season, he added. He urged to promote proven technological packages of pulse crops through crop diversification and intensification to harness pulses production. Seed Replacement Rate and Varietal Replacement Rate are major issues which need to be addressed in a phased manner, he opined.
