Foundation Stone for Farmers Hostel at ICAR-KVK, Ballari laid by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare

Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare laid the foundation stone for Farmers Hostel at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ballari here today.
The Minister briefed about the initiatives of Govt. of India in doubling farmer’s income and in nurturing Agri start-ups.
She also inaugurated Seminar on 'Importance of millets and ODOP scheme of Govt. of India in ascertaining nutritional security'.
Shri B Sriramulu, District Minister and Minister for Transport and ST welfare, Govt. of Karnataka; Shri Y Devendrappa, Member of Parliament, Ballari Lokasabha; Shri Karadi Sanganna, Member of Parliament, Koppala Lokasabha; Shri G Somashekara Reddy, MLA, Ballari Urban participated as Chief Guests. Shri B Nagendra, MLA, Ballari Rural presided over the function.
Dr M Hanumanthappa, Vice-Chancellor, UAS, Raichur and Dr V Venkatasubramaniam, Director, ATARI, Bengaluru were also present in the occasion.
An exhibition on recent developments in agriculture was organized during the programme wherein use of Drones in agriculture, value addition was showcased. Exhibition of Elite bulls of Gir and Murrah attracted the crowd in large numbers.
More than 1100 farmers participated in the event.
