Foundation Stone of Administrative-cum-Lab Building of KVK, Ramgarh, Jharkhand laid

Shri Jayant Sinha, Member of Parliament, Hazaribagh and Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE ) & Director General (ICAR) virtually laid the Foundation Stone of the Administrative-cum-Lab Building of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramgarh, Jharkhand today.

Shri Jayant Sinha, Member of Parliament, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand emphasized that the new Administrative-cum-Lab Building will provide additional strength to the KVK, Ramgarh. He also highlighted the role of science in improving the agricultural scenario of the region.

Regarding the KVK as a livelihood Institution of the farmers, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) emphasized that the Eastern Region’s climatic condition favors the animal husbandry, fishery and horticulture.  The Director General urged the farmers for diversifying the cultivation in the new income generation sectors. Dr. Mohapatra stated that the laying of Foundation Stone for the New Administrative-Cum-Lab Building gives us new energy in the coming New Year to work for farmers’ benefits.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR emphasized on the KVK’s entrepreneurship and incubation programmes.  He stressed that the new KVK will be strengthened as the technology-focused institution for solving the agricultural problems of the region.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management), ICAR stressed on enhancing the farmers’ income by including secondary agriculture interventions along with capacity building of farmers and among farmers.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, Director, ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, Bihar apprised the dignitaries about the estimated cost of proposed building of the KVK, Ramgarh to be around Rs. 1.38 Crores that is expected to be completed by the end of the Year - 2021.

In his address, Dr. Anjani Kumar, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Patna, Bihar highlighted the KVK’s role in agricultural development.

The senior officials of ICAR Institutes along with more than 100 farmers from Ramgarh District participated in the event.
