In his address, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa urged the farmers for taking-up the cultivation to make the uncultivated and fallow lands using the technologies developed by the Institute.

The programme was aimed at demonstrating the ways by which the uncultivated salt-affected lands can be made productive and profitable through the scientific paddy cultivation and other technological interventions.

The fish seed stocking was also carried out in the pond prepared by land shaping to control the salinity besides water harvesting for use in subsequent Rabi crops during the occasion.

Around 30 Paddy Growers having Khazan lands attended the programme organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
