Farmers’ Awareness Campaign on “Balanced Use of Fertilizers” @Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav

The ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad in association with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ranga Reddy organized a Virtual Farmers’ Awareness Campaign on “Balanced Use of Fertilizers” today.
DR. Vinod Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad emphasized on the importance soil testing & use of Soil Health Cards in the application of fertilizers. He also apprised about the use of nitrogen fertilizers (Urea), ways to reduce nitrogen fertilizers through growing green manures / leguminous crops, reducing cost of cultivation and enhance production through judicious use of fertilizers, etc.
About 71 farmers including 17 women farmers from Namyathapur, Akuthotapally, Chowderpally, Gaddamallaiah Guda, Yellamma Thanda and Gangupalli Villages and 12 Final Year B. Sc. (Agriculture) Students virtually participated in the programme.
The awareness campaign was organized a s a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
