Dr. A.K.Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) inaugurated Farm Innovator Meet-2018, Uttar Pradesh at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, IVRI (KVK-IVRI), Izatnagar, Bareilly today. In his address, he urged the farmers to practice integrated and organic farming for augmentation of farm income. Dr Singh said KVKs are organizing more than 15 lakhs training for the capacity building of the farmers and two lakhs farmers have been linked to ICT for accessing the information about scientific farming. He called upon the farmers for using of social media to share and access desired scientific agricultural information.
A publication on farmer’s innovation along with their profile was released on the occasion.
Dr. R.K. Singh, Director IVRI, urged not to burn crop residue and keep the ponds clean so as to use for their livestock.
The meeting was attended by Farm Innovators from 50 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Senior officials of IVRI, SAUs and KVKs also participated in the programme.
