Dr. A. K. Singh, DDG (Agricultural Extension) visits KVK, ICAR-IISR, Lucknow

Dr. A.K.Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra of  ICAR -Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow today. He witness the beneficiary activities being carried out on and off-campus for the gross benefit of the farmers and the improvement of their livelihood and nutritional security.

While intecating with the Scientists of KVK, Dr. Singh applauded the efforts being taken by the scientists to double the farmer’s income by Year - 2022. He also stressed on maximizing soil testing activities, using ICT for disseminating agricultural information to farmers, producing horticulture based planting material to be distributed to farmers and reduction of drudgery to farm women, conducting of FLDs on production of horticultural crops with market oriented suitable inter crops along with arranging need based animal health camps at villages for maximization of farmer’s income.

Dr. A.D. Pathak, Director, ICAR-IISR, Lucknow  briefed about the awareness created among the farmers, extension workers, rural youths, unemployed youths and farm women and various beneficiary activities carried out by the concerned Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). Explaining further, he saidt the concerned KVK has been conferred with the best KVK Award by ICAR for Zone-III and also that Mr. Ramesh Verma of Lucknow, one of the small land holding farmers, has been nominated for Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Krishi Puraskar of ICAR.
