The Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur organized the Annual Zonal Review Workshop for the Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Rajasthan, Haryana & Delhi under the Zone-II from 22nd to 24th June, 2019.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. A.K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) urged the KVKs for transferring the technologies to the farmers in a faster way. He stated that the Government of India has been emphasizing more and more on the KVK system for effectively implementing the various schemes that can help to reflect the KVKs’ work nation-wide.
Dr. Singh urged the KVKs to create the farmers’ database so that the same farmer does not get repeated in the several programmes. He also opined the KVKs to reach more and more farmers, particularly to the small and marginal farmers. Dr. Singh emphasized on ICT tools, viz., m-Kisan, enhancement of seed replacement rate of 4%, Crop Calendar, Training of Extension Personnel, ASCI programmes for skill development, etc.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-II, Jodhpur opined that the KVKs should implement the frontline extension programmes to showcase the technologies in a participatory mode. He urged the KVKs to act dynamically in their approaches for properly implementing the technology backstopping for strengthening the forward & backward linkages on the priority areas and prepare the roadmaps accordingly.
The Directors of NRCSS, Ajmer and CSWRI, Avikanagar delivered the guest lectures on proven technologies.
More than 15 Publications including 4 from ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur were released on the occasion.
The Workshop registered a total participation by more than 100 participants including 63 KVKs and 7 Directors of Extension Education.
