Annual Review Meeting of ICAR-Consortium Research Platform on Vaccines and Diagnostics for the year 2016-17 was held at ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bengaluru campus on 6th and 7th October 2017.
During the inaugural function, Dr. J. K. Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries, and Animal Sciences) addressed the project investigators from Agricultural, Fisheries and Animal Science sectors and urged the scientists of the various centres to work together in developing economical vaccines and diagnostics that will benefit the farmers, apart from achieving high impact results. He also reminded all the participants about the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats while carrying out the objectives of the project.
Over the two days meeting, the Deputy Director General (Fisheries, and Animal Science) along with Dr. H.K. Pradhan, Former Joint Director of High Security Animal Disease Laboratory, Bhopal (External expert), Dr. Ashok Kumar (ADG, Animal Health) and Dr. B.P. Mishra (Joint Director Research, IVRI Izatnagar) and Dr. Aniket Sanyal (Joint Director & Coordinator of CRP on V&D, IVRI Bengaluru) reviewed the progress of the project.
About 37 scientists, from 16 collaborating ICAR institutes across Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock sectors participated in the meeting.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks from Dr.B.P.Sreenivasa, Sector Coordinator (Livestock), CRP on V&D.
