The Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur organized five-day All India Inter-University Youth Festival Agri Unifest - 2019-2020.

In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. R.C. Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR highlighted that the Fest provides the students of agriculture with a single platform for showcasing their talents. He emphasized that the Fest also aims at promoting the communal harmony among the different sections of the society. He mentioned that the mesmerizing performances by the students from Kashmir to Kerala depicted the message of “Unity in Diversity”.

The Special Guests, Shri Satyanarayan Sharma, MLA, Raipur (Rural) and Smt. Anita Yogendra Sharma, MLA, Dharsiwa regarded the fest as a perfect occasion for the students to learn about each other’s rich traditional cultural heritage on a single platform.

In his welcome address, Dr. S.K. Patil, Vice-Chancellor, IGKV, Raipur outlined about the organization of a wide array of vivid colorful traditional performances being organized during the five-day gala event.

The occasion marked the releasing ceremony of “Handbook of Agri Unifest - 2019-2020”, Souvenir and other publications.

The fest registered a total participation by around 2,500 students from 60 Agricultural Universities namely Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh; ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa Campus, New Delhi; Acharya  N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad; Agricultural University, Kota, Bikaner; Agricultural University, Nanded, Jodhpur; Anand Agricultural University, Gujarat; Bihar Agricultural University, Bihar; Punjab Agricultural University, Punjab, etc., to name a few.

A total of 18 competitions ranging from patriotic songs, traditional dance performances, mono-acting, quiz competition, poster making competition, on the spot painting competitions, etc., were held during the occasion.
