The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan organized the “5th Zonal Committee Meeting of Attracting & Retaining Youth in Agriculture (ARYA) for 10 KVKs (including 7 KVKs from Rajasthan and 3 KVKs from Haryana)” today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Randhir Singh, ADG (Agricultural Extension) ICAR urged the ARYA implementing KVKs for working in convergence mode to get benefits of the other Central and State Government Schemes. Dr. Singh stressed on efficient monitoring and evaluation mechanism at the ICAR-ATARI level.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur, Rajasthan briefed about the ARYA and its progress in Rajasthan and Haryana states. He emphasized to up-scale the entrepreneurial units on commercial basis. Dr. Singh stressed on the need for identifying the skill gaps of youth at the field level to address the real needs for organizing skill training in training programme in next phase of the training.
Dr. O.P. Yadav, Director, ICAR-CAZRI, Jodhpur, Rajasthan regarded the ARYA project as one of the ambitious projects of ICAR for minimizing the migration of youth from rural areas to urban areas. He urged the KVKs to document different innovations, large scale success stories and their impacts.
Senior officials of KVKs of Rajasthan and Haryana actively participated in the meeting.
