“Innovator-Farmer Meet for promoting Nutri-sensitive Agriculture and Horti-Entrepreneurship” organized

The ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh organized an “Innovator-Farmer Meet on Nutri-sensitive Agriculture” today.

In his address, Dr. S. Rajan, Director, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow outlined the various interventions, viz., supply of quality planting materials and inputs, technical backstopping and skill development of farmers, women and rural youth by ICAR-CISH for creating and nurturing the nutri-smart communities and horti-innovators. The Institute’s role in vigorously promoting the nutri-rich and economically attractive crops like strawberry, guava, jamun, turmeric, off-season cucurbits, exotic vegetables, etc., for enhancing the farmer’s income and nutritional wellbeing was underlined by the Director.

Around 100 participants including 30 Self-Help Groups and FPO Members, Horti-Innovators and Progressive Horticulturists participated in the Meet.

The Meet was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
